Collingbourne Ducis Parish Council – Project Consultation Result – October 2018 (75 Responses) Parish Council Priorities:       1. Safety       2. Improvements/repairs to existing infrastructure and amenities       3.  Purchase and upkeep of additional amenities  Additional Suggestions: A338 Traffic Calming (10 comments) – An important issue supported by multiple comments. The Parish Council is attempting to address this through a joint open letter to our MPs with other A338/A346 Parish Councils.  Installation of village gates (with assistance from FY 17/18 CATG grant) is hoped to have a positive effect. Portable SIDs being purchase (with assistance from FY 18/19 CATG grant) also.  Metro Count being requested from CATG to enable Community Speed Watch options to reinforce these measures. Improve footpaths and making pavements safer (Railings) and/or wider (3 comments)– Footpath concern is noted.  The Parish Council conducted a recent walk around with WCC to identify issues, can be included as part of work to improve footpaths but will likely come at significant cost.  Clarity of ownership is essential before financial commitment on improvements is made. A Community Shop (3 comments) – Aspiration is noted; however, the Parish Council does not have the resources or Government Grant access for this to be viable. Litter removal and Sign cleaning/tidy (2 comments) – Parish Steward will be tasked and addressed on Village Spring Clean (once a term). Lighting through the Burial Ground (2 comment) – Burial Ground lighting is in the process of being addressed by the Parish Council. Give the wooden hut by the Skate Park a makeover (1 comment) – This will be included in a Village Spring Clean. More Children’s play equipment near the Village Hall (1 comment) – Aspiration is noted; but due to lack of supporting comments this is not considered a priority. Weed and improve Tennis Court (1 comment) – Could include in Village Spring Clean Event but owned by Collingbourne Ducis Village Hall.
